Miracle Sawyer and Arianah Walker worked together recently to bake a pair of delicious cakes.
Each confection had alternating layers of chocolate and white cake. To get the project started, the students first baked the two cakes. Then they cut through the center of each one to make layers. After stacking one on top of the other, they iced each tower with made-from- scratch made chocolate buttercream.
To finish off the desserts, the students topped them with chocolate ganache and pecans. Then they added a garnish of fresh whipped cream and a Lindt chocolate toffee bite.
The slices were served at the weekly new student luncheon in the Culinary Arts Dining Room on Wednesday. Needless to say, there were no leftovers.
