Ashlee Cannon is a Joliet Job Corps Center success story.
After earning her high school diploma, she enrolled at the Center in the summer of 2013 and began the Security/MILCAP program. She was ranked as the sergeant of her class and served as SGA Treasurer, Dorm Government Vice President and president of the Rosa Parks Dorm.
When it was time for advanced training, Ashlee enrolled at the Earle C. Clements Job Corps Center in Morganfield, Kentucky. It offers students the opportunity to ob-tain their CDL while traveling the states and gaining the necessary over-the-road ex-perience.
When she finished, Ashlee landed a job at Covenant Transport making $700 a week. With experience, her pay check jumped to $900 a week.
Ashlee was able to overcome her obstacles and face her challenges on the road to success. Congratulations, Ashlee. We’re proud of you.
