Joliet Job Corps Students enjoyed an informative presentation by Career Transition Manager Candace Brown on Wednesday detailing the advantages of attending Advanced Training.
Ms. Brown walked the students through the application process, explained the necessary steps to take and gave an overview of the various Advanced Training programs.
Ms. Brown then held a question and answer session so the students could get a better understanding of how Advanced Training might work for them.
There are many advantages to Advanced Training. It provides a familiar setting for students so they can build on the hard and soft skills gained while at the Joliet Job Corps Center, for example.
Here are some of the Advanced Training programs:
Human Service Worker – Grafton Job Corps Center
Advanced Cement Masonry – San Marcos Job Corps Center
Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning – Denison Job Corps Center
Transportation and Communications Union – Hubert Humphrey Job Corps Center
Overhead Line Technician – Oneonta Job Corps Center
Licensed Practical Nursing – Denison Job Corps Center
At the Joliet Job Corps Center, one of the most popular Advanced Training options is the Transportation and Communications Union. It is part of a multibillion dollar industry that includes railroad, mass transit and airline compa-nies, and it offers great starting salaries, excel
lent benefits, job security and opportunities for advancement.
