Hello, my name is Christina Aurelien; I’m 21 years old and originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I chose to come to ODJC due to being very interested in the pharmacy technician program and chose that as my career path. I chose the healthcare field as my career because I’ve always had an interest in medicine, wellness, and providing comfort to others since, generally, I excel in customer service settings. I wanted a challenge to unlock a completely different version of myself that I didn’t know I was capable of having, which I am doing. As part of the pharmacy technician program I will be doing my internship with one of their work-based partners, such as CVS Pharmacy, Walgreens Pharmacy, and Kroger. I will work in one of those pharmacies for 120 hours to become familiar with the tasks of a pharmacy technician, such as preparing and filling out prescriptions, assisting and interacting with customers, managing inventory, and recording orders for physicians. My career goal is to pass my national certification, and I would also like to enlist in the air force to be a pharmacy tech after completion of this program.
