Old Dominion Job Corps travel to Richmond VA to be part of a signing House Bill 1217

On Tuesday, July 30, Captain Stuart Herndon and Investigator L.T. Guthrie were honored to be able to travel to Richmond to meet with Governor Glenn Youngkin, and 51st district Delegate Eric Zehr as House Bill 1217 was signed into law. House Bill 1217 was introduced by Delegate Zehr in response to a missing person case from Campbell County during April of 2022. During this investigation, law enforcement were not able to have access to the missing person’s cellphone and social media data due to the uncertainties surrounding the missing person’s disappearance. House Bill 1217 makes this information more accessible to law enforcement if a person is missing under questionable circumstances. Timing is critical in missing person’s cases, and this bill can help in obtaining the needed information in a much more efficient and timely manner. Thanks to Delegate Zehr for his support in sponsoring House Bill 1217.
