Student Government Association Raise 500.00 for Cancer

The Student Government Association at the Jacksonville Job Corps Center continued their annual tradition of raising money for cancer. The students sold ribbons, hats, and baked goods that were donated by staff members to assist in meeting the student’s goal. Staff members freely donated baked good and provided donations to the cause. The baked sale raised $300.00 and the SGA decided to donate 200.00 to meet the goal they set for the project. It was an awesome opportunity to give back to the community by donating the funds to the American Cancer Society. The American cancer Society provides Advocacy and Human Rights, Community support, Education Literacy,

Health and Medicine. Typically the students and staff at the Jacksonville Job Corps Center would participate in the community walk sponsored by ACS but due to COVID19 restrictions they were unable to participate in person.

The SGA ask staff and students to participate in “Think Pink” week as they celebrated survivors and those who’ve lost their fight with cancer.
