Feeding NE Florida works to feed children, seniors, veterans and families that struggle with hunger by connecting millions of pounds of rescued food to a network of over 180 social service agencies. Working with major grocer partners and with the help of volunteers and monetary donations they are making headway in their core strategy. Students from the Jacksonville Job Corps center volunteer on a weekly basis to assist Feeding NE Florida. Students sort thousands of pounds of vegetables and dry goods that are packed to assist local Food Banks in providing food to those in need. The students understand and appreciate the value of their contribution in meeting the needs of the community.
The Jacksonville Job Corps Center practice being a good neighbor as well as providing a trained workforce to the local community.
