Jacksonville Job Corps Center Celebrates Partnership with Johnson & Johnson Vision

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville Job Corps Center is proud to announce the
landmark partnership with Johnson and Johnson Vision. The Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
was launched Friday, November 5, 2021 highlighting a new program that will
provide Advanced Manufacturing Technology training to Job Corps students across
the country.

Participating students are being trained as manufacturing technicians with the use of
robotics and their early learning is in the production of contact lenses in partnership
with Johnson & Johnson Vision. Graduates of the new Advanced Manufacturing
Technology training program will have opportunities to compete for new jobs at
Johnson & Johnson Vision, based in Jacksonville, and other manufacturing companies
throughout the United States.

The inaugural class will graduate in December. The National President of Job Corps-Ms. Rachel Torres, Worldwide President of
Johnson & Johnson Vison– Mr. Peter Mensziuso, Ms. Peni Webster-Lewis-Job
Corps Regional Director, Ms. Blanca Jordan-Plant Manager at Johnson & Johnson
Vision, Ms. Victoria Collins-Division Chief & Program Operations, President of
Heritage Services-Mr. Glen Bottomley, Dr. R. Burbank-Heritage Services Operations
Manager, Representative from Senator Marco Rubio, Representative from
Congressman Al Lawson and Congressman John Rutherford, State Senator Audrey
Gibson, State House Representative Ms. Traci Davis, Vice-President of the City
Council-Mr. Terrance Freeman, Vice Chair Duval School Board– Mr. Darryl Willi,
Dr. Linda Woodard-LDW Group, Mr. Howard Parker-Site Trainer at Johnson &
Johnson Vision, members of the Workforce Council, Community Relations Council,
supporters, staff and the inaugural class of the Advance Manufacturing Technology
Training Program were all in attendance for this grand and historic celebration.

Founded in 1964, Job Corps is the nation’s largest job training and education program.
It provides students from 16 to 24 years of age with career technical training
and academic experiences to increase opportunities toward gainful employment and
