Every year on April 22nd Earth Day marks the anniversary of the birth of the modern environmental movement that began in 1970. April 22nd is the annual event to highlight the importance of clean air, water and land that was first observed 51 years ago. Every year a different theme is celebrated, this year’s theme is “Save Our Earth”
The Jacksonville Job Corps Center celebrated “Earth Day” by planting, trimming hedges, laying sod, cropping trees and replacing mulch around the center. It was a full morning that ended with a terrific lunch. Students had the opportunity learn and participate in earth day.
