Job Corps Trainee Now Serves Her Country

Tainisha Okuwoga fought through many obstacles in life before coming to the Inland Empire Job Corps Center in 2007. She had a difficult home life which did not smooth out upon her entry into the program. Tai- as she was nicknamed; fought through low self-esteem and other issues which plague many who choose Job Corps. However, she overcame her personal obstacles and became a State Certified Pharmacy Technician. Tai refused to stop the learning and development process of her life in Job Corps. She entered the Advance Career Training program and entered San Bernardino Valley College. She continued her college education with a major in biochemistry.

In early 2010, Tai’s time in Job Corps was nearing an end. After looking at several options, Tai chose to enter the U.S. Navy. Tai met with a recruiter and began the process. She began exercising in order to meet the physical exertion requirements of the Navy. On August 1st, 2010, Tainishia Okuwoga began her military Career with the U.S. Navy in Chicago Illinois.
