Inland Empire Job Corps Graduate Success Story

Faces of Job Corps: Edward Kidwell

Edward dropped out of school in 2005 and performed many odd jobs in order to support himself. Tired of not getting anywhere, Edward saw a TV commercial about Job Corps and decided to enroll. Edward accomplished the following:

  • Completed Electrical

  •  Earned his forklift certification

  •  Earned his GED and High School Diploma

Edward completed Electrical at the Inland Empire Job Corps Center in February of 2010. Following his graduation, Edward worked for Home Depot and a demolition construction company while waiting to hear from the City of Barstow. Edward was hired by the City of Barstow in July 2010 as a Journeyman Lineman earning $24 an hour with full benefits. “Job Corps was wonderful and taught me many lessons about life, including how to go about getting a job.”
