Global Youth Service Day with Inland Empire Job Corps

The Inland Empire Job Corps Center’s staff and students continued our commitment to the community by participating in Global Youth Service Day.

On Friday, April 22nd the IEJCC’s students and staff worked at 7 off center locations in our community. These off center sites included: Rio Vista Community Garden, Cajon Blvd clean-up, Muscoy Elementary School, Darby Street Graffiti removal, San Bernardino Community Hospital, Lighthouse for the Blind School, State, Blake, Kerry, and Macy Street Clean-up. The activities and projects ranged from painting, general clean-up and working at community gardens. We also had some projects on center in support of local non-profits. The on center projects included: Baking cookies for the children at the San Bernardino Salvation Army and for our Veterans at the Loma Linda Veterans Hospital. Creating coloring books and earth day book marks for Loma Linda Children’s Hospital.

These activities help teach our students how to contribute and be productive member in the communities in which they live.

This year there were a total of 312 students and 27 staff who participated.
