Inland Empire Job Corps College Graduate Moves To a Four-Year University

Karina Solorio graduated from high school and didn’t feel she had much direction. She decided to join the Inland Empire Job Corps Center in 2007. Karina’s number one goal was to better herself. She chose Business and Finance as her Career Technical Training pathway. When she completed Business and Finance, Karina applied to the center’s Advance Career Training program and was accepted. She attended classes at San Bernardino Valley College and chose Criminal Justice as her major. Karina graduated from San Bernardino Valley College on May 20, 2010 with an AA degree in Criminal Justice. She maintained a 3.2 GPA and was determined to continue her education at a four-year college. Karina applied and was accepted at Highlands University of New Mexico. Karina will start her studies at the University in the fall of 2010.
