HH Humphrey student government members participated in Youth Legislative Day at the Capitol as advocates for the Job Corps program. They were given a special privilege by Senator John Hoffman who brought them onto the floor of the Senate and up onto the dais for a group photo by the Senate photographer. They met with two state senators and a member of the House to ask them to voice support for their program with members of the U.S. Congress, specifically to Senator Al Franken and House members Betty McCollum and Keith Ellison. Students met with their district 66A Representative Alice Hausman. Ms. Hausman is in her 13th term and is Chair of the Capital Investment committee. She told them that she believed that Job Corps is great addition to her district and that she is a big supporter.
