Hubert H Humphrey held its Summer Graduation on August 8, 2014. There were seventy-six graduates with fourteen platinum card-holders among them. Thirty of the graduates completed in health care fields, Certified Nursing Assistant and Medical Office Support. Medical fields continue to be large growth sectors for Minnesota employment. The guest speaker was St. Paul Police Chief Thomas Smith who praised the students for their determination to achieve success in the Job Corps program. Chief Smith, who holds a master’s degree in Education and Leadership, has implemented several innovative youth programs in the inner city. He urged them to share the message of what Job Corps can do and to `pay it forward’ in helping others. Following the ceremony a reception was held courtesy of the Culinary Arts program.
