March is National Nutrition Month and at Hubert H Humphrey that means a wealth of healthy eating information has been given to students each day in the campus Bulletin and in the cafeteria. A nutrition knowledge contest will be held later this month, but to kick it all off, the Health and Wellness Department sponsored a Fear Factor eating contest at an all-class assembly. All of the contestants were presented with a plate of vegetables, including mushrooms, beets, raw and cooked cabbage, sauerkraut, Brussels sprouts and beans. Out of the eight contestants, only one absolutely gave up (raw mushrooms did her in.) The others consumed their vegetables with determination and a few even enjoyed them although some were at the low end of enjoyment. The last round to be consumed was a nice big stalk of celery. Darrell Block was the prize winner receiving congratulations and a prize from Tatiana Kerestesh, H&W Manager.
