Humphrey student volunteers spent the last Saturday of their summer break helping at the Lyngblomsten Mid-Summer Festival. This event attracted over 1500 visitors to enjoy food, games, artists and entertainment on the Lyngblomsten campus. 140 musicians and actors performed everything from Latin Jazz, Garmelan the music of Java, Opera, Celtic songs, short Hmong plays, Congolese guitar to hymns and spirituals on stages all over the grounds. There were water slides, an obstacle course, make and take art and games for children and the Heart of the Beast puppet theater entertained. Job Corps students helped with it all and enjoyed the opportunity to meet and greet neighbors. Lyngblomsten is a senior care center and many Humphrey CNA students intern there.
