Hubert H Humphrey held its graduation on September 18, 2015. The ceremony opened with a flag ceremony courtesy of the U.S. Army color guard and the National Anthem was sung by student Mygia Lewis. Congratulatory greetings were read from Senator Amy Klobuchar and Congresswoman Betty McCollum. The keynote speaker was Dave MacKenzie, former Center Director, who gave the students his top ten list of how to be a great employee. At the end of his speech, Liz De La Torre from Congresswoman Betty McCollum’s office presented Mr. MacKenzie with a United States flag that had been flown over the U.S. Capitol in honor of his years of service to the Job Corps program. Sixty-two graduates received their diplomas amidst thundering applause for their achievements. Center Director Debbie Hoppe pronounced them as graduates and their caps flew up into the air. After the ceremony, Culinary Arts hosted a reception of delicious delicacies for students, staff and guests.
