Fun with the neighbors at HH Humphrey

Humphrey’s annual neighborhood breakfast was held on Halloween morning in the cafeteria on the campus. Each year, Humphrey hosts a pancake breakfast fundraiser for District 10, the city district that Humphrey is in. Board members sell tickets to friends and neighbors, buy all the ingredients and come in to the cafeteria to flip pancakes and cook sausages under the watchful eye of cafeteria manager Gil Tetter. It isn’t much of a moneymaker, but it’s a great outreach event for Humphrey and the district. Humphrey students enjoy the special breakfast on a Saturday morning and it’s fun for everyone to see the neighborhood children in their costumes. SGA students had their special children’s corner with activities, treats and prizes. This year, McGruff and his guide (actually two St Paul police officers) were special guests. McGruff led the traditional children’s parade to great applause. Commissioner Janice Rettman (black shirt) is shown with McGruff in the photo on the left.
