Congressman Erik Paulson, R-MN 3rd Congressional District, visited Humphrey Job Corps to tour the center and meet with students working on their skills. He visited classrooms and chatted with students, asking them about their trades and their plans for the future. It was his first visit to Humphrey and he wrote afterwards that he enjoyed the visit and “was impressed with the amazing work that the center does with those who are less fortunate but who have the drive to succeed.” He was impressed with the emphasis on a good work ethic and believes that “the tools for success taught at the center will have a lasting impact in the students’ lives and our community.” Among the classes he visited were Culinary Arts lab, where CA student Davon Dye showed him one of the seven knife cuts the students learn, and the Painting students’ workroom where he enjoyed a few light moments with the class.
