On the last Saturday of the students’ break, twenty-one HH Humphrey students volunteered for the Como Fest children’s activities event, returning to the campus early to keep their commitment. Students led the kids through simple skill games where they could earn tickets and then pick out simple prizes, manned the inflatable obstacle course, castle and bungee run and scooped out lots of sno-cones and hot dogs. This event was part of a series of community activities including a music festival, a kickball tournament, an amateur talent show, kite-making and more. It ran from Thursday through Sunday and was designed to bring the community together. Humphrey partnered with the local grade school PTO and worked with their members during the event.
