Humphrey students were volunteers at the annual Community Clean-up, a three-district effort that recycles and disposes of several hundred tons of debris from the neighborhoods. Furniture, bikes, TVs and other useable items are given to groups that help families in need. Electronic items are recycled for their precious metals and construction materials are collected for processing. Any profits from this project come back into the districts to support community projects. All of the workers are community volunteers and it’s a great opportunity for Job Corps students to meet, talk to and work with their neighbors.
