It’s a big day in the nursing program at Humphrey. Many students are testing for the Certified Nursing Assistant/Home Health Aide state certification. Prepared as they are, there is a nervous electric energy in the room as the proctors unpack their testing materials. With graduation looming in less than ten days, students are working to conquer this last hurdle so that they can be ready to embark on their new careers. Grading is done by Competency Examiners from Century College, Skippy Klava and Melissa Kiehl, who seem a bit more practiced at this process than the students. This certification process means that are registered with the state. I’s a valuable resume addition and a quality performance standard.
