“For over thirty years, the Hubert H Humphrey Job Corps Center has been a part of the Como Park neighborhood. The center and its students have become an important part of the fabric of our neighborhood. Each year dozens of Job Corps students donate hundreds of volunteer hours to projects right here in our neighborhood. The Job Corps Center is truly a neighborhood institution, not just an institution located in a neighborhood.” This recommendation by District 10 was read by City Council President Kathy Lantry before the citywide audience at the Annual District Councils Neighborhood Honor Roll Volunteer Awards. Humphrey was recognized for the Citywide Honor Roll and a plaque will be placed on the wall in City Hall. Mayor Chris Coleman offered his own congratulations to the student volunteers for their service to the community.
