Graco Inc., a world-wide manufacturer of precision fluid handling equipment, hosted construction trade Humphrey students last week with an extensive tour arranged by HR Manager, Mike Galdonik and BCL, Cate Smith Edlund. The students first stop was the conference room where plant manager Angie Wordell gave the corporate PowerPoint presentation and showed their new product video. Mike Galdonik laid out the various job qualifications and salaries tied to them. Then Jim Badzinski gave them a brief overview of the various operations and led them onto the manufacturing floor where they stopped at various stations and also got to see the interactions of robotics and skilled workers. Students were especially interested in how the workers combined hands-on production with sophisticated computer operations. This 450,000 square foot facility includes the warehouse operations and a huge shipping operation which the students also toured. Graco’s hospitality culminated in a huge pizza party with a chance to ask lots of questions of all their guides.
