held its third Annual 5K Run/Walk and Picnic to celebrate the health and community. The Health and Wellness department distributed bright yellow shirts to runners and walkers who looked liked a flock of yellow birds as they took off from the starting point. About 70 students participated in the run which resulted in 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners Alvin Toe, Steven Biddle, and Musa Hebo, respectively. Toe’s time was 17 minutes with the others close on his heels. There were more activities that engaged students including a student v. staff softball game, which ended with a staff victory. Some students and staff strolled around the lake enjoying glimpses of local wildlife. They also participated in poetry readings, chess matches, checkers or just enjoying nature. All tasks, from grilling to husking corn and clean-up, were shared by students and staff.
