The IUPAT Painting trade students toured Latuff Brothers, an automotive restoration company founded in 1933, at a time when cars still had wood and steel parts. The technology has come a long way since then and Latuff Bros. prides itself on staying in the forefront of the latest and best products and methods. 3M brings business partners from many countries like Germany, Italy and Vietnam to tour the plant and study their methods, including their green technologies. Latuff Bros. was the 2011 BBB Integrity Award winner and the 2011 Midway Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year. Humphrey Job Corps students got the same tour and information from CEO Pete Latuff. The students asked a lot of questions along the way, especially about this journeyman path to employment. This was an opportunity to see a different kind of industrial painting and to hear about the continuous education and trainings needed for these jobs.
