Hubert H. Humphrey celebrated its fifty-ninth graduation honoring the completions and academic achievements of one hundred and twelve students on February 24th. This was the culmination of a week of graduate festivities. Culinary Arts hosted the grads with a festive luncheon mid-week and also prepared the beautiful and succulent reception after the ceremony. During this week, graduates also participated in an all-center pep rally that pitted the trades’ graduates in a variety of competitions. After all of the elimination rounds, the Facilities Maintenance students were victorious. On the day of graduation, seventy-eight students were available to participate. As the military color guard placed the flags, the national anthem was both sung and signed. A letter of congratulations from Congressman Ellison was read and, after the ceremony, each student received a copy. SGA President Jose Cruzlazo and VP Holly Weidemeier read their original composition about victory over adversity and that drew a huge round of applause. Smiles and tears were on the graduates faces as their caps flew through the air.
