(Waimanalo, Hawaii)- When Student Government Association leaders saw on the nightly news that the Hawaii Foodbank needed to replenish their shelves for the holidays, they felt compelled to help out. Students at the Job Corps Center realize how fortunate they are to have access to three healthy meals a day. Students and staff came together and set up a food drive on center. They created a friendly competition which offered incentives for the group who collected the most food. In two short weeks the center collected 1043 pounds of food!
