Christina Nick grew up in and out of state custody and truly struggled to support herself as an adult without a high school diploma or career training. At the age of 24 Christina learned about Job Corps from a friend and enrolled into HJCA excited about the opportunity to earn her high school diploma and receive career training in the health care field. Despite experiencing growing pains along the way, Christina was able to stay focused and make sound decisions based on a commitment to personal and professional growth. Christina graduated with both her HSD and certification as a Connecticut Nurse Assistant and was hired immediately as a full time C.N.A. with HomeWatch Caregivers in Windsor, CT. Christina’s supervisor returned to HJCA asking for more graduates just like her. They have since recognized Christina as “Employee of the Month” and say that she has been invaluable to their company. They further state that Christina has shown tremendous compassion for her clients, a high level of trustworthiness, and that she regularly goes beyond the call of duty to ensure the safety and well being of her clients. Christina, as well as the HJCA staff, is very proud of her success and even more excited about her future.
