Isaac Burgos successfully completed the Advanced Manufacturing Career Technical Training Program at the Hartford Job Corps Academy in June 2011. He came into Career Transition Readiness (CTR) class eager to learn and motivated to secure employment in his trade. Isaac’s résumé was updated and he worked diligently in preparing great cover letters and improving his interviewing strategies. He absorbed class instruction like a sponge and even mentored “newbies” to the CTR class. Isaac applied to numerous jobs and followed up on all the leads given to him. After several weeks, multiple job interviews, and great follow-up, his effort and persistence paid off. Isaac landed a full-time machine operator position with Abbott Ball Company in Farmington, CT for $18.16/hour.
