A community garden was organized and named as the “People’s Garden” by United States Department of Agriculture on the Harpers Ferry Job Corps Center campus. The ground breaking of the garden was featured in the local newspaper, The Spirit of Jefferson. Members of the community who are considered Master Gardeners are helping with the project. Students are volunteering daily to work in the garden doing various tasks including planting, tilling, harvesting, and watering. The produce gathered from this garden will be implemented into the culinary program.
