The Guthrie News Leader printed an article in the Saturday, Novermber 5th Edition on the front page with a large picture in color about the 4th Annual Soap Box Derby. The Carpentry Deparment won the race with the best soap box car. The article showed the picture of the first heat of the racers taking off in the race.
