124 Job Corps Centers across the nation celebrated National Job Corps Commencement or Alumni Day on, Tuesday, August 30, 2011. The Guthrie/Tulsa Job Corps Center Celebrated with an event at the Meridian Technology Center in Stillwater, Ok. A young couple Juanita & James Taylor attended the Alumni Celebration. This couple were students at the Guthrie Job Corps Center in 1993-94. Juanita received her high school diploma and completed the trade of floor tiling. James completed the trades of plumbing and welding. The couple met while at the Guthrie Job Corps and have been happily married for the last 17 years. Currently they own a hair styling and barber business in Del City, OK. James is currently also the barber at the Guthrie Job Corps Centers Salon on center in Guthrie. The Job Corps program is a great program. As Senator Jim Inhofe said to me, I quote “This is one program that the government got right”.
