On Christmas Eve Five of Guthrie Job Corps Students participated in a Guthrie Community Project that Guthrie’s Mayor Steve Gentling thought of. The Mayor and Cheri White Owl Family and Irene Doskow family picked up the students and took them off center for a special treat. The Mayor fed the student and took him to Mass, Cheri White Owl took two students to see Aguaman and back to their place for a meal. Irene and her family fed two students and played games at their house. This was the first time in over twenty years that our community has done something this special with our students and it was well received and appreciated. There were several other families and some churches that volunteered to participate and we had only had Five students volunteer.
