Friday, May 6, 2015, Certified Nursing Assistant Instructor Ms. Halliwell escorted her students Angelica Aponte, Paul Cooper, Jamesha Brown, Jessica Miguel-Santos, Monica Scott, and William French to Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, NY. A tour was given by Dan Rivers, a senior PCT at Ellis. He showed the students around the A-5 Cardiac Unit. Student, Jamesha Brown stated, “I learned that as a CNA we can do other jobs, like working in a hospital!” Mr. Rivers made our students feel welcome and offered to accept their resume and to help them get interviews if they are interested in working in the Schenectady area. Ms. Halliwell and Glenmont Job Corps Center would like to thank the staff at Ellis Hospital for making our students feel welcome and for providing this educational opportunity for us.
