The fragrance of  cherry blossom scented thedécor filled the room as students eagerly awaited the start of the first ever ladies tea party at Glenmont Job Corps Center on Saturday night,October 17th. The party startedafter midnight at 12:30am. It seems like  an odd time to have a party but,while others slept the night away,the tea party was just beginning. The Tea Party turned out to be quite lovely. The night kicked off with a formal welcome and then tea time began. The ladies were treated to a variety of flavored teas and hot chocolate (donated by staff), cookies, Danishes, and finger sandwiches. Several of the ladies were very helpful in setting up tables and volunteering to serve food. The ladies present enjoyed some music and enjoyed the opportunity to fellowsihp with on another. This party was a great opportunity to unite the ladies of both female dorms without any negativity or drama. There was  so much excitement and appreciation for the tea partyand many of the ladies said they had a good time and would like to have it again.  There are already a few volunteers to plan another event such as this.
