Before leaving for winter break, students in Ms. Lynch’s ELL class participated in Read to Succeed with Achieve3000. Achieve3000 is a student assessment tool that focuses on reading comprehension and vocabulary to increase students’ lexile levels. The Read to Succeed contest encouraged students to read even more articles and take even more assessments within the contest timeline, and required 75% class participation. Ms. Lynch’s class won the national Read to Succeed contest for Glenmont Job Corps with 100% class participation, due in great part to student Dmytri Plaisted. Dmytri went above and beyond and completed 68 assignments with a passing score, and really ended 2015 with a bang!
