On Friday April 22nd, 2016, Glenmont Job Corps students and staff celebrated Earth Day. Despite some light rain, our students and staff started the day by organizing into groups to clean up the center grounds. As always, our students were ready to put out their best effort to participate in this group event. Everyone was happy to be outside having the opportunity to work together with their instructors and staff.
When clean-up was over, there was a tree planting ceremony in honor of this special day. All who participated were delightedto participate in one of the first GJCC barbeques of the year! Chef Andy Riggs and Chef Beth Koster teamed up to plan and serve a menu of hot dogs, hamburgers, salads, fruit and desserts.
We thank all involved in planning and who participated in this special event for their work and coordinating the day’s activities so students and staff could celebrate this special day!
