On October 2nd, 2015. Center Director Ms. Deborah Snape and Ms. Ann Marie Morin, BCL/OCT Coordinator had the opportunity to visit Congressman Chris Gibson at his Kinderhook, NY office. Ms. Snape and Ms. Morin were greeted warmly by Congressman Gibson and a member of his staff. Gibson proved to be quite knowledgeable about Glenmont Job Corps Center and congratulated us on our ranking as the number two Center in the nation. Ms. Snape informed him that our Center is also number one in Career Transition Services.
Congressman Gibson spoke highly of Job Corps and the opportunities we provide to youth. Conversations centered around the need for the new security measures, the active shooter drills that will be taking place on Center in partnership with Bethlehem Police Department, and the need to improve admission criteria by having more access to complete background checks on potential students.
We at Glenmont Job Corps appreciate ongoing support from Congressman Gibson. We thank him for his efforts in promoting our program and we look forward to having him as a Keynote Speaker at one of our upcoming graduation ceremonies.
