From March 21 to 23, 2016 Glenmont Job Corps Center participated in the NYATEP Youth Academy Conference held at the Holiday Inn in Saratoga Springs, NY. GJCC Center Director, Deborah Snape, OA/CTS Director Gayle Pausley, Business Community Liaison Ann Marie Morin and four GJCC students participated in the conference.
During the Conferenc GJCC Center Director  Ms. Snape presented a detailed explaination of what Job Corps offers to young adults.  When she completed her presentation, she invited GJCC’s MAA student Daniel Berg and CNA student Kenny Milord to share their own experiences and accomplishments with the audience. Both of these young men did an outstanding job professionally presenting their experiences and achievments at GJCC with passion and sincerity.

The next day, Tuesday, GJCC Automotive Technology student Justin Smith and MAA student Brian Hernandez attended the conference. Their role was to man the Job Corps display table and answer anyquestions the attendees had about Job Corps. Both Ms. Morin and Ms. Pausley were there and report that these young gentlemen did an fantastic job answering questions and representing Job Corps in a positive and professional manner.

The conference encouraged the networking of all service agencies serving youth in NYS.  As a reslut of this conference, Glenmont Job Corps Center is planning a meeting with NYS One Stop and Youth Search representatives to promote collaboration.
