Larisa Bryan is a single mother from St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, she en-tered Glenmont Job Corps May 28, 2015, since her enrollment had been a positive mentor to her peers. Larisa chose the Medical Administrative Assistant trade because she said she loves helping others. The separation from her family was a struggle in the first couple weeks of the program “There was a time I wanted to give up, but my co-workers and Ms. Maye were always there with a positive attitude” After a year in the Glenmont Job Corp program she has grown so much “I now have confidence within myself” she wrote. She now has completed trade, and has five certifica-tions; NHA Administrative Medical Assistant, Department of Labor Boston Region Customer Services, CPR/First Aid AED, Microsoft Word, ServSafe Food Handler. She also obtained her driver’s license while here and she also has a 12.9 in Reading. She has been accepted to Grafton Job Corps AT program for Human Services, she will be transferring Tuesday, June 21, 2016 to pursue this incredible opportunity. We wish her all the best!
