Glenmont Job Corps staff and students have had to change a lot about their general operations due to the COVID pandemic, and one thing that has been sorely missed is the opportunities to participate in communicate service activities throughout the Capital District. “The Staff and students are always so willing to give back, and I look forward to us to being able to get back to normal soon!” said Center director, Erin Ferguson. However, this has not stopped the Student Government Association at the Glenmont job Corps Center from thinking of ways to give back to the community. The SGE presented a plan for staff and students to participate in the National Day of Silence on April 23rd, in solidarity with members of the LGBTQ community. Staff and students could make a donation and be a part of this experience. SGA raised $400 to which they then identified a local program that supports LGBTQ youth in their area, “In Our Own Voices”, to donate to.
