On Saturday, April 23rd, Auto Technology Instructor, Mr. Van der Wouden escorted Auto Tech students to a special event held at Keeler Motor Car in Latham, NY.  Members of the Mercedes-Benz Club greeted our students and introduced themselves. They then took our students on a tour of the showrooms, garages and the new car wash there. Students were educated about the unique features that Mercedes-Benz vehicles offer and how they differ from other vehicles. They were also shown ways in which Mercedes-Benz is upgrading and improving their cars with the latest technology.
One Glenmont student in attendance at the auto show,John Arce, said, “We recognized that Mercedes-Benz is only interested in hiring the best automotive technicians.” Delvon Shepherd, another student on the tour commented, “This trip inspired us to go onto Advanced Training. I am now in communication with Keeler Motor Cars for the opportunity to do Work-Based Learning there.”
These types of field trip expose our students to the many opportunities that exist for them and help them commit to their studies here at GJCC as a basis for pursuing their future success.
