It’s finally summer and there was much fun to be had at the GJCC Recreation Center the past two weekends. Mr. Pailley, Recreation Supervisor,  worked closely with Ms. Watts, Peer Leadership Coordinator and GJCC Student Government Association to plan outdoor events for the students to stay cool and have fun.
Those who were on center for the weekend got to participate in activities of their choice. Celebrating the summer weather included a slip and slide, water guns and many outdoor sports. Students could participate in basketball, softball and volleyball. With all this going on it would be hard not to have a good time.
The highlight of the evening was D.J. Ketchup, he set up behind the Recreation Center and played for hours entertaining students with his unique selections. Some students danced, while others just enjoyed the music.
This event was enjoyed by all and would not have been possible without Mr. Pailley, Ms. Watts and GSA students working together and the dedicated recreation staff: Ms. Young, Mr. Phillips, Mr. Atkins and Ms. Stevens. Students and staff thank the above mentioned for their hard work in planning and facilitating these two wonderful events.
