Gary Job Corps Students Helping Out at Texas Hill Country School

Students from the Gary Job Corps Center and their Residential Manager Scott Ullmann implemented Stage 1 of their revitalization project at the Texas Hill Country School.  The Texas Hill Country School offers services to students between the ages of 6 to 22, assists those with mood disorders, psychotic disorders, autism, and acquired brain injuries.  The immediate plans for the revitalization involve use of he abandoned Earl Goode Nursery that includes four greenhouses one of which is set to become an activity center for the students of the school.  The students from  Gary Job Corps will be removing unwanted fixtures, discarding rotted plant materials, and transforming the greenhouse into a comfortable location for the Texas Hill Country students to enjoy.  Mr Ullmann stated “this project should take a couple of weeks to complete and our students enjoy giving back to the community”.  Picture 1 shows Gary students Ricky Nason, Kelysee Cox, and Elena Sullaica cleaing pots and picture 2, student Brandon Bruton and Residential Manager Scott Ullman(right) preparing the greenhouse.  Job Corps Works for taxpayers, communities, employers, and at-risk youth.
