Steve. graduated from Gary Job Corps in October 1985, he came to the Center in May 1983.  Currently he is the General Manager for KAZI-FM Radio in Austin, Texas where he has been for 20 years.  He came from Alexandria, Louisiana where he said that there was not much of a future there, he had a cousin that attended the Gary Center and caused him to want to check it out.  Steve said that this was alright”Learn a trade and get paid”, he graduated from the Accounting Trade.  He said that college is not for everyone, at Gary you can hone your job skills and get a job.  Steve was the Graduation Speaker for the May 2010 Commencement Ceremony at the Gary Center, he spoke on doing your passion and that at Gary that he found that position that he now holds.  From him “Get paid while you learn a skill and experience”.
