Students also had an opportunity to participate in the Horizons Ropes Course Challenge program which helped them face their fears and rely on their team members for support and encouragement.
The conference culminated with a banquet and student presentations on “Good and Safe Jobs for the Workforce.” National Job Corps Director Edna Primrose made a special appearance for lunch on Thursday and was the keynote speaker at the Banquet. Ms. Primrose message focused on Achievement, Ambassadorship and Adventure. Ms. Primrose encouraged students to set achievable goals and she encouraged students to embrace life as an adventure.

The students raved about the conference. The GJCC student leaders left the conference “forever changed” by the concepts and new ideas they were introduced to. All said they became better leaders as a result of their amazing experience.
