GJCC Advanced Solar Graduate, Gabrielle Barber’s voice was heard twice in the local newspaper as she encouraged her peers to become good stewards of the environment and promote conservation. The first of two articles quoting Barber was published, October 6, 2011, in The Guardian.

Barber was quoted saying “I really hope people get involved in projects to help the environment,” Barber said. “If we care about our world we need to do a better job of protecting the environment.”

The Second Annual Environmental Youth Summit, sponsored by the Cultural Arts Coalition and Mayor Craig Lowe’s office, took place on October 8th. Barber, GJCC Advanced Solar Graduate, was the keynote speaker.
