Y2Y Students Assist at New Liberty Baptist Church Summer Camp

On Thursday June 9, 2016, Ms. Akiba Canady took nine of the Y2Y Committee members to assist at New Liberty Baptist Church Summer Camp. Once the Y2Y Committee members arrived, they were split into two groups. The first group Maria Simms, Omar Larmond, Catrina Morris, DeShaun Witherspoon and JaKaree Williams went bowling with the students. The second group stayed at the church to assist New Liberty staff. Alexis Boggan, Korea Phillips and Anthony Culliver assisted with the 6-9 year old group of boys and girls. Nigelia Moody assisted with the 4-5 years old girls and boys. Our students assisted children with Arts and Crafts, Math worksheets, played basketball, and served lunch to give the New Liberty staff a break. The staff were more than appreciative to have our students assisting with activities. Directors Ms. McCants and Ms. Coates invited the Y2Y Committee members back. Our students really had fun engaging with the children. Ms. Canady wants to thank the Y2Y Committee students for displaying exceptional behavior and for putting their all into another successful event. Y2Y Committee members assist children in the 6 – 9 years old group with activities.
